New music including Lana Del Rey, Julien Baker, Fleet Foxes and James Blake on this week’s West Of The Fields podcast

I continued digging into recent releases from The Flaming Lips, Phoebe Bridgers, The Killers, Sylvan Esso and Angel Olsen on the show this week, while the retro alternative section features a selection of great post-punk tunes, inspired by the excellent Spotify playlists that original mp3 blogger Matthew Perpetua of Fluxblog has been posting to his profile in recent weeks.

New music including Phoenix, New Order, Ela Minus and Adrianne Lenker on this week’s West Of The Fields podcast

I continued exploring recent releases from Jessie Ware, Doves, Sea Girls, Phoebe Bridgers and Washed Out on this extra-long edition of the show, while the retro alternative set looked back to the UK buzz bands of the ’00s (often derisively referred to as “landfill indie”), inspired by a Vice list of “The Top 50 Greatest Landfill Indie Songs of All Time.”

New music including Future Islands, Sylvan Esso, Beabadoobee and My Morning Jacket on this week’s West Of The Fields podcast

I continued exploring recent releases from Phoebe Bridgers, Jessie Ware, Hum, JARV IS… and Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever on the show this week, while the retro alternative set focused on songs from the great ’80s alternative compilation “Left Of The Dial,” released by Rhino Records in 2004. Oh, and I might have squeezed a couple tracks in at the end from a little-known singer-songwriter named Taylor Swift.
